De Viswijf Restaurant has earned a reputation as a restaurant where you can enjoy excellent food and wine at an exquisite setting.  Located in front of the famous Kitchen Windows surf break the view is spectacular and the ambiance relaxed. The owners, Fred and Nadine, have a passion for food and wine and believe that life is too short for bad food and wine. Their wine list therefore has a carefully selected selection of wines representing all wine producing regions including a list of some personal favourites and exclusive wines personally selected.

For Fred and Nadine customer satisfaction is their main concern and welcome you to come and experience it. Diners may sit out on the outer deck, weather permitting and enjoy the peaceful and scenic surroundings, or in an equally popular option on the enclosed deck, or alternatively inside in the main restaurant that offers a cosy and more intimate dining experience.

The extensive menu comprises of seafood, beef, poultry, traditional local dishes and several exotic dishes for you to enjoy. Traditional South African options are Oxtail, curry tripe and a medley of African meats including Kudu and Ostrich. These are especially popular and comforting on colder wet days in Jeffreys Bay.  For the young ones there is a Mac and Cheese, hake, calamari or ribs all served with chips.

De Viswijf is further known for the Food and Wine pairing evenings they host in Jeffreys Bay.  Because of their love and passion for wine an estate representative from the chosen estate hosts the tasting and pairs each wine with dishes of his or her choice to complement the flavors and aromas of the wines. 

Ormonde hosted the most recent Food and Wine Pairing and Cellar Master Razvan Macici was the host. The six course dinner included Mustard Vichyssoise paired with a Sauvignon Blanc, Lemon Sole and Oyster with Smoked Leeks and Tarragon paired with Barrel Selection Chardonnay, Fillet Mignon on marinated cured beef served with cauliflower silk and a red wine mushroom sauce paired with a Barrel Selection Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chocolate salami with dark chocolate and black pepper ice cream paired with Shiraz.
