The Jeffreys Bay Shell Museum was opened on 15 September 1998 to house the collection of a local Me Charlotte Kritzinger, who dedicated many years to collecting shells. Over time, this collection was further enhanced, through donations and exchanges.  A recent addition is a display of Jeffreys Bay micro shells, which is believed to be unique in the region.

Surf Museum in Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape The Surf Museum is situated in Jeffrey’s Bay in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Any surfer will tell you that Jeffrey’s Bay is known as one of the top surfing destinations in the world, so it only seems natural that the town would have a museum dedicated to the sport. The Surf Museum pays tribute to the legends and pioneers of the sport and displays the historical relationship between man and the wave magic. It tells the very informative story of how surfing started in Jeffrey’s Bay and how the town has developed over the last 50 years. The Museum shows the process of making surfboards and its progression from simple wood to fibreglass and the latest light foam boards used today.
